The Lancashire Probation Trust is part of the National Probation Service, a statutory criminal justice service. Their role, as a law enforcement agency, is to protect the public, ensure the proper punishment of offenders and rehabilitate offenders. They work together with the other criminal justice agencies: Police, the Prison Service, the Courts and the Crown Prosecution Service.
Part of the task was reassuring the public.
I managed Lancashire Probation Trust’s internal and external communications: including dealing with internal stakeholders, creating and disseminating missives from senior management, fully responsible for the creation of the staff newsletter, and researching / placing coverage in regional newspapers in addition to maintaining relations with partner organisations. Furthermore, I was jointly responsible for the creation and implementation of an inter-agency staff confidence boosting campaign that was delivered successfully to Lancashire’s eight criminal justice agencies on behalf of the Lancashire Criminal Justice Board.
I would also like to publically thank Kerry Spink Dip CIPR, MCIPR and CIPR accredited practitioner for what she taught me during this period; it was great fun and a pleasure to work with you.
